Dawn Robinson's Profile
Having gained a BSC in psychology, I have always been fascinated by the power of the mind and enjoyed learning more about how we can develop our potential.
When I had my first child I knew I wanted to have as little interference as possible. it occurred to me that I could apply the principles from my learning of NLP and hypnosis to my birth and so i was delighted to discover that the Natal Hypnotherapy CDs had already done this for me! I listened to the birth preparation CD for about 25 times before the birth and was very pleased with the results. I did need to be induced, however I still used the techniques brilliantly and did not need any additional help. My daughter was born 3 hours later. As all my friend who have been induced ended up with a Caesarean, I was particularly pleased that my birth went so well.
I now feel so passionate about helping outher women to find a better way to prepare for birth.
My three main philosophies around birth are:-
I believe that pregnancy and birth should be as free from medical intervention as possible. This does not mean that medical professional do nothave a role, but that the more we can get out of nature's way, the easier it is for the process to work with minimal complications.
Our beliefs and expectations about what is normal have a huge impact on our experiences. If we can build beliefs that encourage us to think positively about pregnancy and birth, it is more likely the process will run smoothly.
Feeling as empowered as possible and confident as a woman is very important
